Would anyone be interested in doing a Labor Day weekend ride? I was thinking a long ride, maybe Eureka Springs, or Magazine Mtn. I dont particularly wanna lead the ride as I dont know my way past Noel without stopping to look at the gps a lot. Im not sure if I will be able to do a Sat, Sun, or Mon ride yet, dependent upon plans but I should know by tomory morning :up

Also down for a ride.

I'll be itching to get my new bad boy out on its first distance ride. :up

(whether I'm crying the whole time or not should be the only thing up for debate)

:crackup

Would those going rather a Sun or Mon ride? I would hate to ride ALL the way out there and the restaurants be closed :crackup seriously tho...

Sun would be better for me, but I could work with whatever.

I Ride: restored GSXR, and a bit slower
labor Day weekend = more traffic = more enforcement. I would head to central/ south central AR to be off the beaten path. Mt. Magazine :up

Change of plans a wee bit...Sat, Sun, and Mon are now all viable options. So the options for those interested: We can do 1)Eureka Springs 2)Pig Trail 3)Magazine Mtn. We can do any of these rides either Sat, Sun, or Mon. Im thinking Magazine Mtn and I dont really care which day. Sun would probaly be the best, likely the least traffic and fewer cops. Actually, I think we could hit pig trail and magazine mtn on the same trip :up

I'm down for the Sun pig trail and whatever else ride, provided I get a hall pass.

Route with 23 in it.

You're looking at about a 500 mile day. Good stuff. Route above goes 412(boring as shit), to 16(fun from Siloam to fayetteville, fayetteville to 23 is scenic, not twisty), to 23(technical, tight, not sure what kind of repair it's in), skur off on 215(amazing fun, might be a little bit of road work on in further down) to Oark for lunch(awesome awesome food, get the buttermilk pie), Ignore that little bit off of oark not sure what google maps is doing, then back to 23 for more fun stuff. If you want to skip Oark then keep straight on 23 and stop in Turners bend for a pretty damn good sammich. Keep on going and hit up 309 for Magazine Mt.

Get an early start. :up

Devils Den?

I haven't been there. But if it's a toss up between Mag Mt. and Jasper. ooooo, 123 wins hands down. Mag Mt. when I rode it a few years ago was ok, but it's now Mt. Judea portion of 123.

What weekend is labor day anyway?

I know next weekend we're going to get the bike, and the 18th is tahlemina. Other than that, I don't know wtf is going on.

Heh, yeah Jasper = same thing. That portion of 123 is arguably the best road in Arkansas. 341 being a very very close second but not a day ride really. 123 is dreamy. :up
